The Governor of Eastern Equatoria urged the youth to work hard for the economic liberation of the newly declared Republic of South Sudan.
Louis Lobong Lojore said that the people of South Sudan deserve to rejoice and enjoy the hard earned freedom but they still need to achieve economic freedom. He said total freedom comes only when citizens are able to feed themselves instead of relying on food from outside.
The state governor said South Sudan is endowed with huge natural resources, which for long has not been exploited, ranging from the fertile soil. The Governor Lobong encouraged the youth to strengthen political independence of the new Republic into economic freedom through their hard work.
The governor said South Sudan is politically free but still needs to achieve economic freedom for citizens to feed themselves. he said the citizen who does not feed himself is not economically free but is subject to slavery.
The comments of the governor answered pleas of the Youth Chairman, Ohide Samson, who urged his peers to work for change and embrace development for the nation’s prosperity.
